Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou in Beaumont Puy De Domme in France was born the 9th of August 1976. Audrey was the eldest child of four. Her parents a dental surgeon and a teacher recognised and supported her love of theater and acting as early as she was a child. This overcame her initial ambition to become a primatologist thanks to her passion for monkeys. Her meteoric rise as an actress in her early years was quick and marked by early success. In 1998, after completing her degree she was invited to be a part of Jeunes Premiers, a French TV talent-scouting programme that was sponsored by Canal+. There she received the award for best Young Actress in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to embark on a professional acting career. Tautou studied at Institut Catholique de Paris, was a churchgoer in her youth and was educated Catholic. But she has since gotten away from this background. Apart from her acting profession, she has is also pursuing modelling. She modelled for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and has been referred as "The Chanel Muse". She is a keen photographer and created a show at The Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. Through her photography, she focuses primarily on celebrity and the spotlight. Cameras are focused towards journalists who scrutinized her rise to stardom in Amelie. Audrey Tautou became a star and gained international recognition with her debut role as Amelie Poulain in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie achieved international success on the screen and won awards around the globe. It is the top-grossing French film made in America. Following this success Tautou starred in numerous movies ranging including British dramatics like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks.
